Prospective students

International Students

Why our programs are attractive

Although our graduate programs are not registered as international study programs, our faculty members are highly capable of teaching and researching using English. We have had international students from various countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, and Vietnam. All of them have successfully graduated within the expected time. Moreover, each year we offer full scholarships for selected international students (read more about scholarships here).

Suggestions for prospective students

For both internation and national students, we recommend that you review our faculty members’ research and publications, and make contact (email, video call, etc.) to assure that the person you are interested in working with will be a good match for your research interest. It is important that you obtain a confirmation from your prospective thesis advisor before you apply.

Campus Life for International students

At the University level:
International students from all over the university form tight-knit groups/clubs consisting of members from the same national. These groups usually meet, share work life experience, and have recreational activities together.

At the Faculty of Technology:
The international student body at the Faculty of Technology has a sizable number of members, approximately 10 students each year. There is a comfortable lounge (English Room) where students can work, hangout, and get help from our International Relations Officer who supports all international students on all aspects, regitration, study, life, etc. The international student community at the faculty is very warm, friendly and actively joins the Faculty’s activities when possible.

At the Department of Geotechnology:
The department has a Graduate Student Office for the students to work and study. Each student is provided a working desk and access to the office 24/7. All of our graduate students, except those who are studying while holding a job and those who work in a laboratory, use this office daily for work and relaxation. Because our department is small, both students and professors are very close and work together as a family in a friendly informal environment.

Recommendations about accommodation:
The university has campus shuttle buses that provides service for free. However, there is a limited number of dorms (also quite expensive) that are located on the bus route. Even those that are in walking distance to the bus stop are also expensive and limited. An option for most students is to invest is a second hand motorcycle for 15,000 Baht (which can be sold later when students graduate) and have the freedom of mobility which allows them to find dorms that are farther away and cheap.

Prospective international students that have been accepted to the program are welcome to ask for help with finding dorms or second hand motorcycles. Our family of graduate students can help you with preparing accommodation and transportation before you arrive.
