On May 28, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, organized a signing ceremony for an academic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), hosted by the Khon Kaen University Demonstration School. The primary objective of this MOU is to promote and develop the potential of students at the Demonstration School in the fields of scientific and innovative projects, nurturing the next generation of researchers and innovators to meet the demands of 21st-century skills.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Araya Chaowruangrit, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, KKU; Asst. Prof. Nusara Surakote, Associate Dean for Educational Affairs, Student Development, and Alumni Relations; Prof. Dr. Alisara Ruangsang, Associate Dean for Research and International Relations; together with executives, faculty members, and staff of the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University. They jointly signed and expressed their commitment to the development of this collaboration.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isra Kanchak, Dean of the Faculty of Education, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Jakpeng, Associate Dean for Demonstration Schools and Educational Innovation Development, and faculty members from the Khon Kaen University Demonstration School attended the ceremony as witnesses. They demonstrated their commitment to fostering and developing the potential of students at the Demonstration School in the areas of science and innovation projects, cultivating a new generation of researchers and innovators to meet 21st-century skills.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Araya Chaowruangrit, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, spoke about the commitment to developing scientific and innovative activities to enable students and faculty members to achieve academic excellence. This signing will provide students with the opportunity to access and utilize advanced scientific equipment, learn through real-world experiences, and foster inspiration to pursue further studies in science and technology. Moreover, it will promote exchanges and mutual learning between faculty members from both sides, and help develop a sustainable collaborative network, particularly in the fields of biotechnology, geological technology, food technology, production systems and industrial management technology, as well as food science and technology. Together, these efforts aim to nurture a new generation of high-quality personnel to drive Thailand towards a world of technology and creative innovation.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isra Kanchak, Dean of the Faculty of Education, expressed gratitude to the Faculty of Technology for its continuous and long-standing support to the Demonstration School. He emphasized that the Demonstration School is not only a “production unit” and a “lab school” for the Faculty of Education, but also belongs to every faculty within the university and serves as an important “Innovative School.” This MOU signing further strengthens cooperation, aligning with Khon Kaen University’s policy of promoting collaboration among faculties to advance education—particularly in revising the Middle School and Pre-University curriculums of the Demonstration School to connect with various university faculties. This aims to ensure that students gain diverse experiences tailored to their individual interests.
Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Jakpeng, Associate Dean for the Demonstration School and Educational Innovation Development, further elaborated on the role of the Demonstration School as a “production unit” and “laboratory” of the Faculty of Education, with the aim to become a leading school at the national level and serve as an “Innovative School” that emphasizes the creation of innovators. The Demonstration School has continually received support and assistance from the Faculty of Technology in various areas, including student care, organizing diverse activities, and teacher development, which has led to nationally and internationally recognized achievements. This collaboration further reinforces the strong relationship and is crucial for advancing the Demonstration School under its new structure.
This cooperation will not only enhance the teaching and learning in science and technology at Khon Kaen University Demonstration School, but also drive the development of educational innovations, nurture students with knowledge and abilities aligned with 21st-century skills, and develop the Demonstration School as a model in educational innovation. This, in turn, will create value for society and strengthen the country’s education sector.
