Establishment of the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University
__ _The Faculty of Technology at Khon Kaen University was founded as part of the university’s strategic vision to develop and strengthen human resources in technology within the Northeastern region of Thailand. Its establishment was in response to the Fifth Higher Education Development Plan (1982–1986), and was officially realized on August 27, 1984, following the announcement of the Royal Decree on the Establishment of the Faculty of Technology at Khon Kaen University
The primary objective of the Faculty’s establishment is to produce high-quality graduates and generate impactful research, alongside providing academic services. The Faculty emphasizes the application of knowledge related to the use of natural resources—physical, biological, and agro-industrial—in solving problems and improving the quality of life in communities, with a focus on sustainable development.
Over the past four decades, the Faculty of Technology has grown steadily, earning recognition for its strong academic programs and contributions to innovation in the Northeastern region. It offers interdisciplinary, up-to-date curricula that integrate diverse fields of knowledge.
The Faculty places a strong emphasis on applied research and academic services guided by the principles of the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy. Its aim is to sustainably enhance the agricultural sector and industries that rely on domestic raw materials in the Northeast. By transforming research-based technology and innovation into commercial value, the Faculty supports community income generation, human resource development, and effective resource management.
