On May 2, 2025, the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Assistant Professor Dr. Arunya Cheawreungrit, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, along with the faculty’s executive team and personnel, participated in a significant strategic seminar. The purpose of the seminar was to report on the progress of projects during the fiscal years 2021-2024 and to collaboratively establish objectives and key results (OKRs) for the fiscal year 2025, aligning with all 11 strategic issues of Khon Kaen University. The event took place at the Fueng Fah Room, Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University.
Assistant Professor Dr. Arunya Cheawreungrit, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, presided over the opening ceremony and presented a report on the key project outcomes of the past four years. She emphasized the faculty’s commitment to elevating research towards practical application in the industrial, community, and social sectors, in line with the 4th Strategic Issue: Academic Services for Social Benefit. Furthermore, she articulated a visionary outlook, setting the goal to propel innovations from the faculty’s research to the international stage, ranking within the top 50 in Asia by the year 2035, which corresponds with the 9th Strategic Issue: Leading the University Towards Internationalization.
The Dean of the Faculty of Technology also outlined the faculty’s four core missions: producing and developing personnel towards international standards; conducting research and creating internationally recognized innovations; providing academic services and promoting commercial utilization; and upgrading the management of local resources and agricultural industries through interdisciplinary approaches in an international context.
Simultaneously, the faculty announced its key strategic direction: the Faculty of Technology aims to become a regional hub for technological innovation by the year 2027. This will be achieved through the seamless integration of teaching and learning, research, and academic services, with a target to increase the number of research outputs with practical applications to at least five projects per year and to generate measurable positive impacts on the regional economy and society.
In driving the organization forward, the Faculty of Technology adheres to the organizational values of “SMART TE KKU”, which encompasses:
- S – Social Devotion for Societal Impact: Dedication to the community, creating societal impact.
- M – Management by Fact for Innovation Advancement: Data-driven management for progressive innovation.
- A – Achievement by Teamwork & Agility for Societal Benefit: Success through teamwork and adaptability for the benefit of society.
- R – Responsibility for Customer & Research Application: Accountability to stakeholders, focusing on the utilization of research.
- T – Technology and Innovation for Societal Transformation: Leveraging technology and innovation to lead social change.
Furthermore, the Faculty of Technology prioritizes personnel development in accordance with the 3rd Strategic Issue: Transforming Human Resource Management and the 6th Strategic Issue: Creating a Desirable Workplace. It also emphasizes the application of digital technology in its operations, aligning with the 8th Strategic Issue: Transforming the Organization Towards the Digital Era, and focuses on management based on the 10th Strategic Issue: Management Based on Good Governance and Social Guidance. This is coupled with creating a conducive environment for work and life, as outlined in the 7th Strategic Issue: Creating a Livable University.

The afternoon session focused on analyzing the organization’s environment using SWOT Analysis and brainstorming to propose project strategies for driving the Faculty of Technology towards its goals. Seminar participants were divided into five main groups based on their academic disciplines and departments: Geological Technology, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Production Technology, and the Faculty Administrative Office.
Each group collaboratively analyzed the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) relevant to their respective units. They then presented their analysis and proposed strategies to the meeting, allowing each group a maximum of 10 minutes to ensure all sectors were informed and could collectively consider the operational guidelines.
The outcomes of this seminar are considered crucial data that will be used to formulate the action plan for the fiscal year 2026 of the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University. This will ensure the faculty’s operations are efficient, aligned with the university’s development direction, and capable of generating positive impacts on society and the nation in the future.
