The Faculty of Technology at Khon Kaen University organized an international academic seminar under the “KKU Reinventing University 2025” project, with the honor of hosting Dr. Gopalakrishnan Kumar, a Bioenergy expert from the University of Stavanger, Norway. The seminar was held at Seminar Room 1 and Seminar Room 2, TE06 Building, Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, to provide in-depth knowledge about Bioenergy to researchers, faculty members, and graduate students at Khon Kaen University. The event was conducted in a hybrid format, allowing participation both onsite and online through Zoom Meeting and Webex systems from June 9-19, 2025.

Reinventing University or “Transforming the University through Collaboration with Leading International Institutions to Produce World-Class BCG Research” is a scheduled project with the objective of creating opportunities and expanding international research collaboration networks (Global Research Networking) between Khon Kaen University and leading world-class institutions/universities. It also aims to enhance the capability to publish cutting-edge BCG research in high-quality international journals and create collaboration with foreign higher education institutions through the exchange of expert faculty from abroad.
As the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University participated in this project, the Faculty invited Dr. Gopalakrishnan Kumar from the Institute of Chemistry, Bioscience and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Stavanger, Norway, to conduct research presentation activities and special lectures on research writing for publication and research funding for faculty members and graduate students at the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Alissara Reungsang, Associate Dean for Research and International Relations.
The seminar covered six important aspects of Bioenergy research and academic development, including: International Research Funding Sources in Bioenergy, Techniques for Writing Successful Research Proposals, Budget Planning and Project Management, Techniques for Writing Research Articles for International Journal Publication, Innovation and Research Trends in Bioenergy in Europe, and Directions for Bioenergy Research Collaboration between Thailand and Norway.

Assistant Professor Dr. Araya Chaoruangrit, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating: “This seminar represents a significant milestone in the Faculty’s efforts to create internationalization. Dr. Kumar’s expertise not only enhances the research capabilities of our faculty members but also opens new opportunities for creating sustainable collaboration with European institutions.”
This seminar demonstrates the commitment of the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, to elevating research potential through international collaboration. The knowledge and networks established during the seminar sessions will benefit not only current faculty members and students but also future generations of researchers conducting research to further develop and advance knowledge in Bioenergy, including solving environmental issues, in alignment with the goals and vision of the Faculty of Technology to strive toward becoming a “Leading Organization in the Development of Technologists, Innovative Research Products, and Multidisciplinary Intellectual Contributions to Society“
