History of the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University

The Faculty of Technology at Khon Kaen University was established in 1984 (B.E. 2527) with the primary mission of producing high-quality graduates, conducting research, and providing academic services. The faculty particularly focuses on the appropriate utilization of biological and physical natural resources to maximize benefits for societal and national development.

Today, the Faculty of Technology envisions itself as a leading organization in Asia, dedicated to producing skilled technologists who excel in knowledge, capability, ethics, and morality. In addition to its academic programs, the faculty has earned prestigious accolades, including the award for being a Regional Model Laboratory in the Northeast under the “Safe Research Laboratory Development Project, Phase 2.” This recognition was granted to the Microbial Hydrogen Production from Biomass Research Group Laboratory at the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, by the National Research Council of Thailand. The project aims to develop a safe research laboratory model for the Northeast region. Furthermore, the faculty is home to the Geology Learning Center and the Food and Bio-Industry Learning Center, which include a rock museum and a food laboratory (bakery lab) as testaments to its excellence. These achievements contributed to the faculty being awarded 1st Runner-Up in the “Outstanding Research Performance in Science and Technology” category in 2011 (B.E. 2554).
The Faculty of Technology continues to uphold its commitment to excellence in education, research, and innovation, striving to make meaningful contributions to society and the nation.
