Geotechnology Program, Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, has generously provided local stone and soil materials from Isan regions to support a practical learning exchange activity in stone printmaking between the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University, with Associate Professor Dr. Graciela Machado from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto (FBAUP), Portugal, <\/strong>funded by the Erasmus+ program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geotechnology Program, led by Asst. Prof. Kiattisak Sonpirom,<\/strong>\u00a0Head of the Geotechnology Program<\/strong>, assigned Dr. Nudthawud Homtong<\/strong>, lecturer in Geotechnology Program, and Mr. Itthipol Boonsri<\/strong>, Scientist at Research and Laboratory Unit (ESPReL), to prepare equipment and stone materials for the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts. They provided unused stone slabs for creating lithographic prints, approximately A5 paper size with smooth surfaces on both sides and a thickness of about 5-6 centimeters, totaling 6 pieces.<\/p>\n

Exhibition Opening and Workshop Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

The exhibition opening was held on December 4, 2024, attracting significant interest from faculty members, students, and art enthusiasts. The exhibition showcased creative works from collaborative workshops involving faculty, students, and guest artists, reflecting international artistic cooperation.<\/p>\n

The Faculty of Technology was invited to participate in the ‘Stone Curtain’ Workshop at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, led by Prof. Alissara Reungsang, Associate Dean for Research, Innovation and International Relations<\/strong>, along with staff members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application of local geological materials in creative artwork not only demonstrates valuable and sustainable resource utilization but also integrates scientific knowledge with art, showcasing the potential of local materials to contribute to contemporary art creation on the international stage. This collaboration aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):<\/p>\n
