On Friday, June 6, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Araya Chaoruangrit, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University; Mr. Somkid Poltue, Director of the Faculty of Technology Administrative Division; Ms. Srisawan Jailuek, Head of General Administration; Ms. Narumon Pimphongton, Secretary to the Dean; Ms. Nonglak Boonchote, Head of Research Support and Academic Services; Mr. Songkrot Pimphanngul, Head of Academic Support; Ms. Panitanan Panichpat, Finance and Accounting Officer; Ms. Yada Dabplonon, Planning and Information Officer; Ms. Pratana Duangwanthong, Finance and Accounting Officer; and Ms. Kanok-on Neera, International Relations Officer, together with staff and students from the Faculty of Technology, participated in the ‘KKU Unites Temples and Communities’ event. The activity involved planting 8,000 Siamese rosewood trees in honor of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana for the year 2025. The initiative aims to expand Siamese rosewood forest areas, conserve natural resources and the environment, and promote forests as carbon sinks.<\/p>\n

The event was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, who served as the layperson\u2019s chair, and Phra Ajarn Thepnarin Chinrangsri (Chantako Bhikkhu), Abbot of Thepnarinthararam Temple, who served as the monastic chair. The event was also attended by university executives, faculty members, staff, students from Khon Kaen University, and local community members, with a total of more than 80 participants at Thepnarinthararam Temple, Wang Sam Mo District, Udon Thani Province.<\/p>\n

Associate Professor Dr. Chupong Thongkamsamut, Vice President for Physical Resources and Environment, stated that this project was initiated through the collaboration of Thepnarinthararam Temple, Khon Kaen University, and the local community. Together, they planted 8,000 Siamese rosewood trees over an area of 20 rai to express loyalty and gratitude to Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, who has devoted herself to various royal duties for the benefit of the Thai people.<\/p>\n

Associate Professor Dr. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of Khon Kaen University, stated that on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen\u2019s Birthday Anniversary on June 3, 2025, Thai people are deeply grateful for Her Majesty\u2019s boundless kindness and express their loyalty by participating in activities that benefit society as a whole. Today\u2019s tree planting project is another activity that reflects Her Majesty\u2019s commitment to the conservation of natural resources and the environment, as well as fostering a lasting sense of social responsibility.<\/p>\n

Phra Ajarn Thepnarin Chinrangsri (Chantako Bhikkhu) spoke about the intention behind the temple\u2019s initiative, which began the tree-planting project in 2014. He explained that the aim is to create a Buddhist park, with every tree being humbly dedicated as a royal merit offering to His Majesty the King and the Royal Family. The reason for choosing Siamese rosewood is that it is highly suitable for cultivation in the area and is as valuable as gold. In addition to increasing green spaces and providing life for animals, humans, and the planet, it is also a precious resource for the country\u2019s future. He expressed his great pleasure that Khon Kaen University has joined in advancing this initiative for the benefit of the nation.<\/p>\n
